Program Description
The purpose of this program is to provide support for law enforcement agencies to hire and/or rehire additional career sworn law enforcement officers/deputies in an effort to increase their community policing capacity and crime prevention efforts.
Eligibility
city, township, county, special district, and state governments; units of local government; Native American tribal governments; and the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Eligible applicants are limited to established and operational local, state, territorial, and tribal law enforcement agencies that have primary law enforcement authority for the jurisdiction served
