U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Public Transportation on Indian Reservations (Tribal Transit) Program

Program Description

The purpose of this program is to award competitive grants to Indian tribes for any purpose eligible under Federal Transit Administration’s (FTAs) Formula Grants for Rural Areas Program, including planning, capital, and operating assistance. The goal of the program is to enable Tribes to buy transit vehicles, upgrade bus facilities, and expand or improve transit service.

Eligibility

federally recognized Indian tribes and Alaska Native Villages, groups, or communities as identified by the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA)
